The story: The heavy metal imagery on the truck and its merchandise is there because Dan McCluskey is a fan of heavy metal music, and it speaks to the owners’ desire “to bring really good energy, positive vibes.”
“It’s important to us that it’s not just food, we are creating a fun time too,” McCluskey said.

A new food truck called Iron Clad Eats (instagram) is under development with plans to launch the spring. Iron Clad is focused on serving tacos that draw inspiration from street food and regional favorites. They plan to deliver “big loud flavors…to bring fun and unique food to go to the mouths of Maine”.

Think street tacos that focuses on regional flavors. It's the brainchild of Chef Joe McCluskey. He and some family members Dan McCluskey & Stephanie McCort, bring years of experience here in Maine and New York City.

After heading back to the industrial area breweries nearer my hotel, I picked up a couple of the strangest tacos that could ever be considered tacos from the Ironclad taco truck. Where else but Portland, Maine, could I expected to have a chop cheese taco alongside a “River Bottom Nightmare Beef” taco.
